A section of a causeway bridge in the Gold Coast was ripped away by flooding after 125 kph winds ripped through the region overnight on March 30-31.
The Gold Coast Bulletin reported that a vehicle was on the bridge it gave way. This video, taken on March 31, shows what was left of the Tamborine-Oxenford Bridge.
At time of publication, the state of Queensland was still reeling from the aftermath of Cyclone Debbie which made landfall earlier in the week. While residents in Brisbane and Gold Coast were cleaning up amid sporadic storm fronts brought about by the remnants of the category four cyclone, residents in Whitsunday were advised to not drink tap water due to fear of bacterial contamination.
