Holy Glass Cannon! The TIE X/2 packs a powerful punch, at the expense of no shields (which is tricky vs. 4 X-Wings). The firing arc is wider than most TIE ships, so I find myself relying heavily on leading rather than targeting. This is one instance where I prefer single fire lasers rather than fire-linked. It's not durable enough to be classified a gunship, but it's a definite step-up from a stock TIE Fighter.
