In the midst of answering a question, Sean Spicer told a journalist, “stop shaking your head.”
At Tuesday’s White House press briefing, Press Secretary Sean Spicer made it abundantly clear he was less than thrilled with one reporter’s reaction to his responses.
In the midst of answering a question, he told the journalist, “Please stop shaking your head.”
The exchange got heated when American Urban Radio Networks’ April Ryan asked, “How does this administration try to revamp its image?"
Spicer turned the tables, suggesting that the media outlets were pushing a negative view of the White House, particularly in regards to the Russia matter.
He asserted, “If the president puts Russian dressing on his salad tonight, somehow that’s a Russian connection.”
He continued, “The reality is...at some point report the facts.”
As Spicer’s response went on, he noted Ryan’s reaction and said, “I’m sorry that disgusts you. You’re shaking your head.”
Undaunted, Ryan embraced her eventual opportunity to pose a follow-up question, asking about Condoleezza Rice’s relationship with Trump, who once made disparaging comments about her.
Spicer foiled Ryan’s attempts to break into his reply, telling her, “April, hold on. It seems like you are hell bent on trying to make sure that whatever image you want to tell about this White House stays."
Soon after, he said, “Please stop shaking your head again.”
