A Missouri father's quick actions and sharp shot may have saved his teen daughter.
According to St. Louis police, late Monday night the 17-year-old was outside of her home getting something from a car. That's when two masked men approached the teen, holding her at gunpoint.
One of the men, 31-year-old Terrell Johnson used the girl as a human shield, forcing her back toward the house as his co-conspirator Cortez McClinton followed.
The teens parents just so happened to look out their window and spotted the masked men with their daughter in tow. The fast-thinking father went for his gun, fatally shooting Johnson and injuring McClinton, who fled the scene. Police took McClinton into custody at an area hospital. He has been charged with kidnapping, burglary, and felony murder.
Felony murder charges can be applied when a person dies while committing a felony whether it is the victim or an accomplice.
