Passengers and staff at Brussels Airport paused for a minute’s silence early on March 22 to mark the anniversary of series of bomb attacks on the city’s metro and airport that left 32 dead and hundreds wounded.

A minute’s silence was also observed at the city’s Grand Place, while the city’s metro operator urged a “minute of noise” to coincide with the moment of the metro bombing.
