Set in Hollywood’s Moulin Rouge nightclub, Fresh from Paris sparkles with the glitz and glamour of the grand stage in the nineteen fifties. The story is evocative of classic big time show business tales: singers hoping to make it big, predatory promoters, and love affairs. But really, Fresh from Paris is essentially wall to wall music – which, thankfully, is terrific. Martha Hyer dazzles as the club’s featured performer; and the film is the events of one big night at the club, filled with singing, dancing, and deception. Fresh from Paris gives viewers a chance to enjoy a night in an extravagant 1950’s nightclub.
