A new exoskeleton is built for people in wheelchairs. Researchers at the Italian Institute of Technology designed the robotic suit, which can easily be attached and detached from a wheelchair. Crutches help the patient stand up from the chair and walk around. Two motors in each leg allow for flexible movement in the knees and hips. This “plug-and-play” suit can even be disassembled and carried in a bag. The exoskeleton isn’t meant as a substitute for a wheelchair, but to provide more independence and mobility for its user. The post This Exoskeleton Attaches To A Wheelchair For Extra Mobility appeared first on Vocativ.
