Chris Cuomo tries to make Steve King look RACIST in ridiculous interview

When I first saw this I knew it would get the media’s attention. Even I admit that in the context of the Wilders cartoon, it could have been worded better because it wasn’t exactly clear what he meant.

So sure, he should be asked about this in an interview as to what he exactly meant, and that’s what Chris Cuomo did at first.

But as you’ll see in the interview, no matter how well King explains himself and the meaning of his tweet, Cuomo continues to make what King is saying about race even though that’s clearly not what he is talking about.

King explains that he’s talking about a country keeping up it’s birthrate and when he applies it to America, he makes the case that the left is trying to bring in illegals who don’t want to assimilate to make up for all the babies that have been aborted over the years.

He’s not making this about race even after Cuomo accuses him of suggested we need to ‘white cleanse’ America.

But Cuomo persists, accusing King of trying to do the opposite of what he had just stated.

Unfortunately King takes the bait and addresses race at one point, saying:

If you go down the road a few generations or maybe centuries with the intermarriage, I’d like to see an America that’s just so homogenous that we look a lot the same from that perspective. I think there’s been far too much focus on race, especially in the last 8 years and I want to see that put behind us.

Of course CNN makes sure to tweet that out like this: “Rep. Steve King: “I’d like to see an America that’s just so homogenous that we look a lot the same””

Way to take that comment out of context CNN to make him look racist!

After this, Cuomo once again accuses King of suggesting that America needs to be about ‘white people’, even though King NEVER said that. And King responds that he’s never said that nor made that point, despite how he’s being characterized by blogs and media.

Cuomo then tries to get King to answer a ‘yes or no’ about different groups of people being equal in America, but as soon as King tries to answer, Cuomo interrupts him after only a couple of words out of his mouth accusing him of pausing – as if to suggest he’s not sure that these people aren’t equal. King responds that he’s simply trying to give Cuomo an objective answer.

King does answer the question after Cuomo lets him, saying that all men are equal in the eyes of God and those who are American citizens are equal in the eyes of the law. King also suggest that not every individual will contribute the same, and that certain groups of people contribute more than others.

Cuomo again accuses King of making it about race, but King responds making clear that he’s not talking about race, but culture.

Ugh. What a despicable interview by Cuomo.
