NOAA scientists just captured the first ever underwater footage of the True’s beaked whale.Spotted in the coastal waters of the Azores, the whales were identified by the white patch on their heads. The video shows a cohesive group that appears to dive in a coordinated manner, similar to other beaked whales. The species has never been tagged for research purposes, so scientists don’t even know how many there are.
