China's economic official cut the country's growth goal, warning against global pressure for trade controls. Premier Li Keqiang delivered a speech about the nation's budget, trade relations, and the establishment of equal treatment for foreign companies. Li set the country's growth target to about 6.5 percent, which is a decrease from last year's goal of 6.7 percent. “There are many uncertainties about the direction of the major economies’ policies and their spillover effects, and the factors that could cause instability and uncertainty are visibly increasing," Li said in his speech. China’s growing level of debt is seen as the nation's greatest death to economic growth.
