Viola Davis just made Oscars history, after being nominated twice in the past. The star won her first Oscar for her supporting actress for her role in the African-American family drama "Fences." Davis, 51, beat out Octavia Spencer from "Hidden Figures" and Naomie Harris from "Moonlight." The "Fences" actress shined through the awards season taking home a Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild statuette, and numerous critics prizes "I became an artist, and thank God I did, because we are the only profession that celebrates what it means to live a life," Davis said on stage.
