A diver is given a rare treat as he is allowed to swim with two massive spotted eagle rays. Eagle rays are beautiful and graceful swimmers. They reach a maximum wingspan of 10 feet. They can be as long as 16 feet and can weigh over 500 lbs. Their tails have 2-6 venomous spines for defense. These two rays glide gracefully through the water, seeming to be in complete sync. Although usually shy, they occasionally exhibit curiosity about people if approached cautiously. These two actually slowed right down as the diver caught up to them. Stingrays are known to be quite intelligent.
