The Los Angeles Lakers have brought back Hall of Famer Magic Johnson to the front office as the team's new President of Basketball Operations. Also included in the move was the news that GM Mitch Kupchak was fired and Jim Buss, brother to team owner Jeanie Buss, was relieved of his duties as the EVP of Basketball Operations. Johnson rejoined the team earlier in the month as an advisor but soon after joining, he made it known he wanted to "call the shots." The Lakers currently own the third-worst record in the league at 19-39 and have failed to reach the .500 win mark in the last three seasons.
