Norma McCorvey, Jane Roe of Roe v. Wade case, dies at 69

Norma McCorvey, who was Jane Roe in the Supreme Court landmark case Roe v. Wade legalizing abortion in the U.S., died at 69 years old. McCorvey died Saturday morning at an assistant living home facility due to heart failure. Following the 1973 ruling, around 50 million legal abortions have been performed nationwide. McCorvey revealed her identity in the 1980s to support women's rights groups and pro-choice advocates. She later underwent several religious conversions and spoke out against abortion as a born-again Christian.
