There were two YESes, two NOs and an 'I don't really care' as the five candidates for West Midlands Mayor were asked should Donald Trump be given a UK state visit.
Of course the mayor has no part in the decision - that will be down to the Government and Royal household, but as potential political leaders of this region we want to know where they stand on the major issues of the day.
Few are more divisive than the prospect of Donald J Trump coming to the UK to rub shoulders with the Queen and get the full red carpet treatment.
Conservative Andy Street believes the visit should go ahead as long as the Government makes it clear it condemns some of his policies. "If you shun somebody, particularly someone like him, they will never mend their ways, it will only make them more extreme," he said.
