Yemen requested that the United States remove its ground troops after raid went wrong, the first operation authorized by President Trump. The country officially banned the US from running any Special Operation ground missions, according to senior American officials. While the White House characterized the raid as a major success, images surfacing of children apparently killed in the raid indicate otherwise. In addition to civilians, the Navy’s SEAL Team 6 Chief Petty Officer William Owens was also killed in the operation. The operation came amid Trump's vocalized promise to take a more aggressive approach to combating Islamic terrorists.
