Arrest warrants issued against PTI Chairman Imran Khan and Tahir ul Qadri

An Anti-Terrorism court (ATC) in Islamabad issued permanent arrest warrants against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) leader Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri, reported 24 News HD.

It has been reported that the ATC has issued permanent arrest warrants in the case of torture on Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Asmatullah by workers of the two parties during the 2014 sit-in Islamabad. Khan and Qadri are charged with motivating their workers for torturing SSP Asmatullah.

It was added that Imran Khan and Tahir-ul-Qadri both have been declared proclaimed offender in the police reported submitted in the court. Now the proceedings of the case will resume after arrests of PAT and PTI chiefs.
