Fast food isn’t just hard on your stomach; it seems like the wrapper could harm you, too.
A group of scientists in the U.S. collected 400 fast-food wrapper samples, blasting the wrapper with photons to search for fluorine. Fluorine indicates potentially carcinogenic materials – and it was found in a third of the wrappers.
Scientists are still studying if the chemicals in fast food packaging have a direct correlation to illness. So don’t put away that hamburger just yet.
