Here are five facts about Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch.

Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that his nominee for the Supreme Court is Neil Gorsuch.
Here are 5 facts about the man who will fill the seat left vacant by Justice Antonin Scalia.
Number 5 - He has judicial experience. Gorsuch is a federal judge in Colorado and has served on the U.S. Court of Appeals since 2006. It was President George W. Bush who nominated him for the post. Prior to that, Gorsuch spent a short time working in the Justice Department.
Number 4 - He has an impressive education. The nominee can name-drop with the best of them, having earned degrees from Oxford, Columbia University, and Harvard Law School.
Number 3 - Gorsuch is a follower of orignalism. He believes the Constitution should be understood exactly as written and based on its original meaning. He once noted, “Judges should instead strive (if humanly and so imperfectly) to apply the law as it is, focusing backward, not forward, and looking to text, structure, and history to decide what a reasonable reader at the time of the events in question would have understood the law to be."
Number 2 - Some say he’s a lot like Scalia. The comparison comes in part from his constitutional views. Gorsuch is also known for expressing his opinions in a manner that is upfront, without reservation, and often includes wit.
Number 1 -  He supported companies’ rights to jettison the Affordable Care Act’s birth control mandate. Gorsuch agreed with business such as Hobby Lobby, which asserted that providing coverage for contraception was against its religious views.
