Qarun temple in Fayum, Egypt is a mystery in itself, very small and cubic in shape, yet it contains a secret maze of corridors, stairs and huge undergrounds under it. It is a Ptolemaic temple, 3rd century BC, dedicated to Dionysias and Sobek in yellow limestone. During Roman times it was an outpost with garison. This temple remains in darkness throughout the year and receives sunlight the day of Winter Solstice.
