A restaurant chain has combined three of Scotland’s favourite dishes in one burger to celebrate Burns Night.

Byron’s latest creation, the Calvin Haggis burger, features a 6oz burger, haggis and the main elements of a traditional Scottish fry-up; a fried egg, dry cured bacon and a tattie scone.

As if that was not enough, the burger also includes American cheese, bacon and onion relish, blanched white onions and Byron sauce.

The tasty treat has been launched by the restaurant to celebrate Burns Night on January 25 and will be available in all of Byron’s Scottish restaurants until January 29.

It is the brainchild of Hayley Morrison, who works at Glasgow Byron, and was chosen by the firm as the winner of a competition to create a new burger.

Hayley came up with the idea for the burger while working in a greasy spoon and said it was originally designed as a hangover cure.

She said: “It was amazing to win the competition.

“The idea was to have everything in one roll and I love tattie scones so that needed to be in there too.”

The Calvin Haggis burger costs £9.50 and is available from Byron’s Scottish restaurants until Sunday, January 29.
