Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry regrets his call to eliminate the Energy Department six years ago, which President-elect Donald Trump has tapped him to lead. According to written testimony he is set to deliver to Congress on Thursday, Perry "do not reflect [his] current thinking." "In fact, after being briefed on so many of the vital functions of the Department of Energy, I regret recommending its elimination," Perry plans to say. However, an open question remains as to what Perry intends to implement and to which degree he believes humans are behind global warming. Perry's confirmation hearing on Thursday intends to reveal his plans for the Energy Department.
