We are a senior couple and had just returned from a very long trip home from Florida. We took the first cab in line at the Pleasant Hill Bart station which was a Checker Taxi - we should have listened to our inner "red flags" - which we will definitely do before getting in a cab in the future. The driver was scary! We were just going to downtown Pleasant Hill - not very far but when he hit the freeway off ramp at 60 mph (30 zone) we politely asked him to slow down he was making us nervous - his response was bizarre - We had no right to tell him how to f - ing drive his cab and if we didn't like his driving he would let us out right there. He continued to rage and curse and drive crazy - we called the police (who couldn't do anything because they said it was a "civil matter"). He let us out blocks from our house - we didn't pay him and were both happy to be alive. Please don't take checker cab - it was a horrible experience and we plan to take the bus or have our kids drive us to Bart. Doesn't anyone oversee these cab drivers???? - this driver definitely has serious issues with anger/rage and driving!
