Vanity Fair reports that Ivanka Trump will resign as executive vice president of the Trump Organization and from her fashion brand for ethical reasons now that her husband Jared Kushner has taken an official position in her father’s administration.

Ivanka Trump is planning to leave the family business, reports Vanity Fair.
The media outlet notes that she will resign as executive vice president of the Trump Organization and from her fashion brand for ethical reasons now that her husband Jared Kushner has taken an official position in her father’s administration.
The piece notes that her investments will also be shifted to avoid a conflict of interest.
Meanwhile, Kushner is expected to step away from his executive duties at the Kushner Companies and the New York Observer in addition to divesting much of his portfolio, notes PEOPLE.
The Washington Post reports that on January 9, President-elect Donald Trump, announced that Kushner would become an unsalaried senior adviser; insiders have indicated that he will likely oversee different areas such as trade and foreign policy.
Despite efforts to avoid the appearance of impropriety, the move has attracted criticism; some claim there may be a violation of the anti-nepotism statute--which the family’s attorney denies--while others question Kushner’s transfer of assets to family members.
Ivanka Trump is said to have no formal position in Washington thus far, with Reuters reporting that she will instead spend time “settling her family.”
