On Wednesday night, the Philadelphia 76ers defeated the New York Knicks by a score of 98-97 in dramatic fashion. New York controlled the game for most of the night, exploding for 32 points in the first quarter. Joel Embiid had 21 points and 14 rebounds, and Ersan Ilyasova added 16 points to help the Sixers rally from a 17-point deficit. The game was back-and-forth and after Porzingis was being praised earlier for a block on Embiid, he missed a crucial shot late in the game — badly. Up by one, 97-96, with the shot clock winding down and eight seconds left in the game, Porzingis took a wide open three-pointer and air-balled it. The Sixers got the rebound, pushed it up the court and T.J. McConnell stepped up and nailed a buzzer-beater.
