Mammogram results lead to unneeded breast cancer treatment for some

A Danish study published Monday in Annals of Internal Medicine found that one in three women with breast cancer detected by a mammogram are treated when they shouldn't. Dr. Otis Brawley, chief medical officer of the American Cancer Society The women who didn’t need treatment had tumors so slow-growing that they’re essentially harmless and in many cases even shrink on their own.
