It’s a Queen Anne-style stately home set in 26 acres of beautifully maintained gardens with spectacular views of the Surrey Hills.
Over the years, it’s been in the hands of the Red Cross and, more recently, was a conference center, until the Alexander Hotels group took it over and began splashing the cash.
When we arrive on a Thursday evening, it’s eerily quiet, but the staff is all fired up and genuinely enthusiastic about the future.
