CHANDLER, ARIZONA — Surveillance footage from an Arizona Walmart shows the moment a man opens fire on cops in a surprise attack.

The shootout happened last year on April 23 at a Walmart store in Chandler, ABC 15 Arizona reported. The footage was released after Chandler police compiled a 288-page report on the shooting.

The footage shows officers Daniel Colwell and Joshua Puebla dealing with trespassing suspect Mitchell Oakley. The exchange appears nonchalant until Oakley pulls a gun and starts shooting.

He shot Puebla in the face, arm and back and Colwell twice in the torso. The footage then shows Oakley trying to escape the store, but little did he know Colwell was wearing a ballistics vest.

According to the Arizona Republic, Colwell shot Oakley five times before killing him.

Oakley, aged 24, was homeless and on parole at the time of the shooting.
