A facelift surgery is technically known as Meloplasty or Rhytidectomy. A facelift is the most extensive way to remove or reduce the appearance of wrinkles and sagging of the face, as a result of ageing. The skin is literally lifted off the face, so that the skin and the tissue beneath can be tightened, then the outer skin can be repositioned smoothly over the face.
Having a facelift surgery can make a face appear younger and healthier. While the face will continue to age, a facelift can “take years off” a person’s appearance. For some people, this may increase self-confidence and reduce anxiety about ageing.
