New York's brand new Second Avenue subway line is set to open since construction first started 45 years ago. The new extension of the Q train on Second Avenue officially opens on Sunday, with the first train running at noon. The extension of the subway line was initially proposed 98 years ago, and the invitation-only, first ceremonial ride took place Saturday night. The second phase of the Second Avenue of the project is expected to be completed in the coming years, and would extend the service to 125th Street.
