On Thursday, the president-elect said on social media, “My Administration will follow two simple rules: BUY AMERICAN and HIRE AMERICAN! #USA.”
According to MSNBC, he has previously expressed that phrase online and during a rally in Alabama as well.
CNN reports that Trump also communicated the message in Iowa a few weeks ago, saying, “The American worker built this country and now it's time for American workers to have a government for the first time in decades answers to them.”
However, critics have pointed out that Trump has produced goods overseas and hired foreign workers himself in the past.
