Ripple effects from Minnesotas nasty bird flu epidemic are now reaching the grocery aisle, with a large supermarket chain reporting a shortage of eggs due to the effects of the sickness.\r
The deaths of more than 16 million egg-laying hens in Iowa and Minnesota has led to a supply disruption for Cub Foods, according to the Star Tribune.\r
A company spokesman told the paper that Mondays outbreak on a chicken farm in Nicollet County, one of Minnesotas largest, was a blow to their operation.\r
However, the chain says its now using different suppliers to replenish inventory, and that things could be back to normal by next week, KSTP reports.\r
The station says that only certain types of eggs (such as large eggs, apparently in higher demand) are affected by the shortage
