A Lufthansa flight coming in to land at Dublin Airport on December 23 had to abandon one run and come back for another.
Video recorded by Dubliner Ger Fenton shows the jumbo jet struggle with the strong winds, due to Storm Barbara.
Met Eireann had warned earlier in the day that strong wind and rain were likely to begin hitting Ireland on Friday.
It warned on its website to expect severe gusts between 100 and 120 kilometers per hour in coastal regions and the high ground of Donegal, Galway and Mayo.
