During his annual year-end Q&A session with journalists, President Vladimir Putin was asked about Russia’s alleged efforts to sway the U.S. election, to which he responded that the Democrats are trying to blame external factors when, in fact, “They should learn to lose with dignity.”

Russia’s President Vladimir Putin has said that Democrats in the U.S., in his words, “need to learn to lose with dignity.”
He made these comments on Friday during his annual year-end Q&A session which was attended by more than a thousand journalists, reports the Washington Post.
When asked about Russia’s alleged efforts to sway the U.S. election for Donald Trump, Ruptly TV quotes Putin as saying in Russian, “The outgoing administration and the leadership of the Democratic Party of the United States are trying to offload responsibility for all the failures on external factors.”
Putin later reportedly added, “We know that the Democratic Party lost not only the presidential election, but also the election to the Senate, where the Republicans have a majority. Is that also the result of our or my personal work?”
He eventually talked about Clinton’s loss of more electoral votes than Trump despite protests and then said about the Democrats, “They are losing on all fronts and are trying to explain this through external factors. From my point of view, that humiliates their own dignity. They should learn to lose with dignity.”
In regards to Russia’s alleged hacking efforts, the Washington Post reports that Putin said, “...it's not important who did the hacking, it's important that the information that was revealed was true, that is important.”
