Varun Dhawan, who will be seen in a grave role in Sriram Raghavan's Badlapur, says that he suffered a lot while playing this character, which according to him is a total piece of art.
At the trailer launch when Varun was asked how difficult was it for him to play the role, he said, ''The three films that I have done prior to this, there is an extension of me in those roles but the character in this film is something which I could be when maybe I become a father. There are emotions which I have not experienced as yet but I used to think this way that if I would have been in this situation, then I would have reacted this way. I have tried to put myself in that situation and I used to break down thinking that what happens when a man embarks on this kind of journey.''
''My character is a total piece of art, Sriram has graphed my character very well and he told me that I have to live this, feel this. I did suffer a lot while shooting for this film but when I see the trailer and I see people appreciating it, the fact that I got to work with talented actors like Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Huma Qureshi, it's a very emotional experience, I can't explain it in words,'' he further added.
Badlapur is slated to release on February 20.
