Asif Zardari to address rally just after his landing on Dec 23: CM Syed Murad Shah

KARACHI (Dec 19) : Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali shah has said that there would be fool-proof security arrangements on the arrival of PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari on December 23. Apart from it, there must be proper traffic management to avoid road jam and other issues.
This he said while holding a meeting with PPP provincial leaders and Karachi administration to discuss and chalk out detailed plan to receive party chief Asif Ali Zardari here at the Cm House today. The meeting was attended by Sindh PPP President Nisar Khuhro, Secretary General Waqar Mehdi, Jam Mehtab Darhar, Mukesh Chawla, Rashid Rabbani, Saeed Ghani, Shehla Raza, Imdad Pitafi and Fawaz Butt. From administration side acting IG Police Mushtaq Maher, Commissioner Karachi Aijaz Ali Khan, DIG South Azad Khan and others.
The chief Minister said that PPP Chief Asif Ali Zardari is scheduled to land on December 23 at Old Terminal late in the after noon. There are two options either to take him in a cavalcade or to fly him to Bilawal House. This would be decided at in the next meeting. However, there must be both arrangements there.
He said that people would come to Karachi from adjoining districts like Thatta, Badin, Jamshoro, Hyderabad to receive their brave leader via super highway or from National Highway. Therefore, they should not only be facilitated but guided to park their vehicles at the designated parking, and then walk towards the venue.
PPP President Nisar Khuhro said that the entry and exit points must be clear with proper guidelines to avoid unnecessary problems and mess for the workers and supporters of the party.
The chief minister said that President Asif Zardari would address the rally for which the party would decide the venue where necessary arrangements of sound system etc should be made.
PPP General secretary Waqar Mehdi suggested that a security and traffic management plan be worked out by Additional IG and Commissioner Karachi. The same may be discussed with party leaders to finalise them. On this the chief minister formed a committee headed by Waqar Mehdi with Najmi Alam, Rashid Rabbani and Saeed Ghani to hold a meeting with Adli IG and Commissioner Karachi Tomorrow (today -Tuesday) to discuss and finalise the arrangements.
The chief minister also urged Commissioner Karachi and Waqar Mehdi to meet Civil Aviation authorities to share the programme of receiving the party leader with them so that everything body must be on board.
The meeting also discussed the issues to guide the people coming from other districts and take to them to the venue.
It was also decided that that Saeed Ghani, Shahla Raza and others would visit the area of old terminal to give them suggestions to finalise the programme.
