One of the figures of the siege of Aleppo and the entire Syrian conflict is seven-year-old Bana Alabed, whose blog and tweets have been read by presidents and generals.
Written in perfect English and coached by her teacher mother, she has now been evacuated safely from the city after tweeting she was in fear of her life.
Some doubt she is real and claim she is a CIA psychologcal warfare operation, but her mother insists that if you want to know what it has been like in bombarded Aleppo, her daughter can tell you.
“Me and Bana want to tell all the world how much kids and all people in east Aleppo, how much they are suffering from bombs and everything – because there is no life there,” said Fatemah Alabed.
Bana’s fans worldwide will be happy she is safe and sound and far from the air strikes she wrote so movingly about. She has been described as a pawn of opposition propaganda by President Bashar al-Assad.
