Trump wrote, "If my many supporters acted and threatened people like those who lost the election are doing, they would be scorned & called terrible names!"
After a divisive and bruising election, electors are under a lot of pressure.
For instance, one elector in Pennsylvania told PennLive that "she received 18,000 emails, 130 letters and postcards and numerous phone calls after her address and phone number was released. She said she hasn't attempted to read all the emails, but most were urging her to cast her vote for Hillary Clinton."
Following reports by the U.S. intelligence agencies that Russia intervened in the U.S. presidential election to help Trump win, majority of survey respondents in a recent poll by YouGov on behalf of the activist group Avaaz support delaying the Electoral College vote.
The participants were asked, “Given these intelligence reports, to what extent do you agree or disagree that the Electoral College vote should be delayed until the Electors can be briefed about the allegations of Russian hacking?”
More than half--52 percent--agreed that the vote should not occur as scheduled on Monday.
