Scenes of emotional reunions unfolded in western Aleppo after buses carrying sick and injured Syrians arrived from a rebel-held enclave in the east on Thursday. In a video posted online by SMART news agency, people are seen crying and hugging one another after seeing their friends and family arrive by bus to Rashideen neighborhood on the western outskirts of the city. An operation to evacuate thousands of civilians and fighters from the last rebel bastion in Aleppo began on Thursday, but evacuations stopped Friday morning after rebels tried to evacuate kidnapped people with them and some had tried to smuggle weapons out.
