Much to the delight of Salman Khan's fans, the Bombay High Court suspended his sentence of five years imprisonment and granted the superstar bail pending appeal, in his 2002-hit-and-run case.
After hearing his lawyer Amit Desai's argument, Justice A.M. Thipsay suspended Khan's jail term. Thipsay said that there is no law that says if there is alcohol it is culpable homicide. In his argument, Desai asked why Kamal Khan, who was present with Salman when the accident took place, was not interrogated.
After hearing his argument, Thipsay said that he wants to know how many witnesses deposed before the Sessions Court and the magistrate court and if they had any after thoughts.
On Wednesday, a Sessions Court sentenced Khan to five years in jail, after pronouncing him guilty in the 2002 hit-and-run case.
