Joppa (or Jaffa nowadays) was an ancient Canaanite port that became one of Solomon's main harbours for trade and security. Here, Jonah caught a ship for Tarshish (Jonah 1:3). Joppa is also the home of Tabitha whom Peter raised from the dead in Acts 9. Peter stayed with Simon the Tanner until he left for Caesarea to preach to Cornelius and his family (Acts 10). Great place to visit.
