In the market for a nice piece of rock? You could go to your neighborhood park and seek one from Mother Nature for zero dollars.
Or alternatively, Nordstrom will sell you one for $85. That's right, the retail giant is offering a rock inside a leather pouch for sale, reports the Huffington Post.
The Internet is understandably confused. Perhaps part of the cost stemmed from getting a fancy description drafted, which states, in part, "A paperweight? A conversation piece? A work of art? It's up to you, but this smooth Los Angeles-area stone—wrapped in rich, vegetable-tanned American leather secured by sturdy contrast backstitching—is sure to draw attention wherever it rests."
The perplexed social media crowd had rock-solid responses.
One Twitter user noted, "Not sure what depresses me more. The fact that this exist, or that people actually bought it."
Another wondered, "Still trying to figure out if this $80 rock being sold at @Nordstrom is a joke."
Others reacted particularly hard, "This is a rock. It has leather knickers. It costs $85 at Nordstrom. This is entirely normal."
