"The Silent House" by Orhan Pamuk was first published in 1983. It was the author's second published novel, after his first successful novel "Cevdet Bey and His Sons."
The story covers the time period of one week. During that week three siblings visit their grandmother in Cennethisar, a small town near Istanbul, Turkey.
