Officer will not face charges in murder of Keith Lamont Scott, DA says

Charlotte police officer Brentley Vinson, who shot and killed Keith Lamont Scott outside an apartment complex, was found to have acted lawfully by Mecklenburg County District Attorney Andrew Murray Wednesday. Murray said "all the credible evidence" pointed to Scott being armed, which was further emphasized in surveillance footage from a convenience store shortly before Scott was shot at the apartment complex. The footage showed a bulge around Scott's ankle, which Murray said is consistent with descriptions of a gun and holster by officers who were at the scene.
