Flames Flank Roadside as Drivers Escape Gatlinburg Wildfire

Authorities in Sevier County, Tennessee, issued mandatory evacuation notices to residents of downtown Gatlinburg after a 500 acre burning in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park swept towards the mountain resort city on Monday.

According to reports from the Knoxville News Sentinel, citing local fire officials, evacuations were ordered in the Mynatt Park neighborhood, East Foothills Road, Turkey Nest Road, Davenport Road and Savage Gardens Area.
