As an infant, Soslan recovered from hepatitis B, but years later the disease led to the development of liver cancer. Soslan discovered he had hepatocellular carcinoma when he went to see a doctor about a sports injury. He now needs a liver transplant, but this will only be possible if the cancer hasn’t spread to other organs and tissues. Another problem is finding the right donor. While both his brothers have volunteered, doctors deemed neither of them suitable.
In such a grave situation, time is of the essence. Soslan remains steadfast and calm. After surviving two near-death experiences in childhood, he became a fatalist, believing that whatever is destined to happen will happen.
