The Bronx Zoo broke a Guinness World Record for the largest origami elephant display in the world. The zoo set the new world record of 78,564 elephants on Thursday on Guinness World Records Day. The previous world record was 33,764, set by ZSL Whipsnade Zoo in Great Britain in 2014. The origami display was part of the Wildlife Conservation Society’s 96 Elephants campaign, which raises awareness of elephant poaching in Africa. “We’re just trying to raise awareness of this crisis and that we all need to be working together to save elephants,” Bronx Zoo spokesman John Calvelli told CBS.
