Donald Trump has made it clear that he intends to abandon the United States’ commitment to the Paris Agreement on climate change. The president of France does not see that as an option.

Donald Trump has made it clear that he intends to abandon the United States’ commitment to the Paris Agreement on climate change, reports the BBC.
Francois Hollande, the president of France, does not see that as an option, notes Reuters.
On Tuesday, he said at a U.N. climate change conference in Marrakech, Morocco, “This agreement is irreversible in law, it came into force on 4 November, more than 100 states accounting for more than two thirds of greenhouse gas emissions ratified it."
President Hollande continued, “The US, the largest economic power in the world, and the second largest greenhouse gas emitter, must respect the commitments they have undertaken. It is not only their duty but in their interest as well."
Trump has been quite vocal about his belief that climate change is a hoax and has said, “It’ll get cooler. It’ll get warmer. It’s called weather.”
