Head over here to here more about why being single ROCKS: http://www.yourtango.com/2015262217/heres-how-to-embrace-being-single-starting-now-video
One thing that I'll never understand is why people assume that just because you're single, it automatically means that you're unhappy, lonely or inexperienced. Excuse me if I missed the memo, but when did not having a boyfriend become synonymous with being miserable?
Don't get me wrong. I'm not against getting into a relationship or even just dating for fun, but for some reason everyone thinks that if you actively enjoy your singlehood something is wrong with you. What's wrong with this situation? Do you have to be miserable as a single person to tell the world that you're serious about finding love?
Nowadays, we spend so much time stressing over who's dating who's that we never stop to really think about WHY we put this level of importance on the dating scene.
Here's the deal. Have you ever really thought about why you hate being single?
More importantly, does it have something to do with you or what society tells you? It comes down to two things: You can either embrace your singlehood and keep getting on with your *bad self*. Or if you're serious about jumping back into the dating game, you can do something about it.
But as life coach Lisa Kaplin wisely states, you need to learn how to be by yourself before you can get serious with anyone. In fact, there is nothing wrong with wanting to enjoy being single OR wanting a relationship that's one for the ages.
But how can you expect yourself to find happiness with someone else in the future if you're not even happy with your own life now?
According to Live Science, being afraid to be alone actually sets you up for failure. Seriously, the study found that "people who fear being single often settle for less in love; they're more likely to cling to unhappy relationships and more willing to date duds." Yikes!
So do yourself a favor and take Lisa Kaplin's spot-on advice. And before you put yourself out there, think carefully about what it is exactly that you're looking for.
