Vincent Kompany's fitness problems took another unfortunate twist when the Manchester City captain's long-awaited return to international football ended before it began against Holland.
Roberto Martinez selected Kompany to start in the friendly against the Dutch in Amsterdam but a twinge near the end of the warm-up forced him to withdraw as a precaution.
Holland went ahead with a penalty converted by Davy Klaassen but Yannick Carrasco equalised with a deflected shot, eight minutes from time, but it was all about injuries.
